Prayer Space at St Mary's

This year, the RE Councillors have worked incredibly hard to create an indoor space at St Mary's.

"We wanted to make a space for children to pray indoors just like our St Mary's garden outside. It was fun deciding what prayer opportunities to put in the area like prayer ribbons, pebbles and nice paper to write prayers on. I like helping younger children use our Prayer Space at lunch time" - Alana, Head of Worship

"I liked choosing what to put on our Prayer Space. My favourite is the prayer bottles" - Mae, Year 1 RE Councillor

"I liked designing the display. I liked choosing what materials and colours to put on it. I love looking after our Prayer Space" - Charlotte, Year 1 RE Councillor

Our RE Councillors

The RE Councillors at St Mary's are a group of children who lead RE and worship across the school. The children are voted for by their peers and use their fortnightly meeting to share the opinions and ideas of their class mates. The children play a vital role in leading whole school worship, evaluating RE lessons and worship and deciding how to improve the catholic life of their school.
