MFL

Subject leader: Mr Earley

At St Mary’s we feel that learning another language is an important part of the children’s development. As well as helping with their understanding of literacy, it also helps them to appreciate the many languages spoken by children in the school and their cultures. The children love to share their knowledge and we welcome parents who are willing to share their customs and traditions with the school. Intercultural understanding is an important area of the curriculum.

Our aim is to give the children an enjoyment of language learning and the confidence to develop their skills. At school, we use many games and role plays and there are numerous websites which can help the children to practise their skills.
