PTA

At St Mary's we have a very committed and enthusiastic Parent Teachers Association.

The PTA raises money to help support all aspects of school life. We are a successful charity and hold lots of fun activities involving the whole school community. We have raised funds for the regeneration of the playground, provided iPads for each class, funded a new sound system and have hosted Valentines discos for both Upper and Lower School, held Mother's Day gift sales, an amazing Ladies Pamper Night, held stalls at the Parish Fairs, various non-uniform days, Design an Easter Egg Competition, provided refreshments at parent attended events, held a Barn Dance, family disco and karaoke nights, film nights, fabulous Christmas Bazaars and Summer Fairs, contributed to the cost of providing pantomimes for all to enjoy! The list goes on and on!

The PTA are very proud of their school! They have supported the school by providing or helping to fund equipment such as:

  • Additional books for the library
  • Computers
  • Playground equipment
  • Cameras
  • Lunchtime games as well as funding theatre productions
  • Playground markings
  • Regeneration of playground mural
  • Ipads
  • Sound system for the Hall
  • Outdoor play houses

The PTA is a lovely way of bringing parents and carers together in both fundraising activities and social events. Parents are able to put their ideas forward, share their skills and develop relationships with other parents.

We are a lovely bunch who actively welcome and encourage new members- after all if you have a child attending the school you are automatically a member! We also have staff representatives. Keep your eyes peeled when reading newsletters for dates of future meetings and activities you may want to be involved in or help with. No offer of help is too small!
