Our Head Boy and Head Girl are chosen by members of the school staff from our Year 6 pupils, for their outstanding qualities and as excellent role models for St Mary’s. They will hold this responsible role for the whole school year.
During the year they will be called upon to be ambassadors for the school and will meet and greet important visitors to the school, as well as being involved in a wide range of other important and enjoyable duties such as our new parent day, whole school Masses, celebration assemblies, concerts and any other special events that the school holds.
This role is ever evolving and we hope that this year we will continue to develop their involvement across the school in decision making along side our school council. We will also be looking to the children to offer ideas on their involvement and how they can further contribute to the life of our school.
We hope that the privilege of being chosen for the role of Head Boy and Head Girl will help to drive their ambitions and make them leaders of the future.
The children have been asked to tell the school why they would make such a good Head Boy/Girl. They can do this by just talking to the children and some of them have chosen to create a power point. It is totally up to them. We hope that their presentations will 'bring to life' the information they gave us in the letters of application they wrote to us last term.
